“We are entering the dark age of AI: the future belongs to small teams of humans with agentic armies”

“We are not experiencing an evolution. We are entering a civilizational rupture.” Vasco Pedro frames AI not as progress, but as a pattern history has already shown us: first comes darkness, then destruction, only then light. The warning is not coming from critics, but from the very people building these systems. This is what makes the moment different — the pace is unprecedented, and so is the potential for disruption. But destruction is not failure, it is part of the cycle. The role of institutions, leaders, and builders is not to stop it, but to shorten the path to the “light,” to abundance. The future is not guaranteed. It depends on how we navigate the rupture.
