Rui Gomes is an electrical engineer specialised in computer science, best known for more than 20 years leading digital transformation in healthcare, with a Master’s in Medical Informatics, a Six Sigma Black Belt, and certification in Artificial Intelligence through the EITCA/AI Academy. He is Director of Digital Transformation and Innovation at ULS Coimbra, teaches at universities and polytechnic institutes and through the Portuguese National Cybersecurity Centre, and is a frequent keynote speaker on IT Governance, Medical Informatics, and AI.

An expert in European innovation projects with more than 15 years across EU funded initiatives, including Horizon programmes, Rui bridges academia, strategy, and real world execution.
